Solving the "Where Should We Eat?" Dilemma

The timeless, frustrating question among friends is "Where should we go for dinner?" Bite Buddy is our answer—a fun, social, and decisive mobile app that ends the endless debate. We handled the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and UX/UI design to full-stack application development, creating a seamless solution to a universal problem.The core concept is simple: combine the power of a social network with the addictive swiping mechanic popularized by dating apps. Users create a group for the evening, set key preferences like cuisine type and price range, and then individually swipe on restaurant options. When everyone in the group swipes right on the same place, it's a match!

Intuitive Design & Full-Stack Development

Our design process focused on making group decision-making fast and frictionless. The interface is clean, vibrant, and centered around a card-swiping system that feels instantly familiar. Each card displays essential restaurant information—photos, cuisine, price, and distance—allowing for quick, informed decisions. The "match" screen is a celebratory moment that reveals the winning restaurant, complete with directions and booking options.On the development side, we built a complete, scalable application. This included creating a real-time back-end to sync group swipes instantly, so users see the moment a decision is made. We integrated with the Google Maps API to pull a rich, dynamic, and location-aware list of restaurant options, ensuring the choices are always relevant. The result is a robust, enjoyable, and highly practical social utility app.
